  The children’s unit is the only one of its kind both in the city and region of Voronezh where they carry out surgical and conservative treatment of children up to 15 years of age.

  The unit is provided with modern diagnostic and surgical equipment.

Microsurgical operations are performed in the unit with the usage of up-to-the-minute techniques.

  Strabismus correction
(including vertical strabismus) with cosmetic incision of conjunctiva :

  • recession, råsåction of rectus muscles;
  • anterior transposition, recession of inferior oblique muscle;
  • myotomy of superior oblique muscle.

  For cataract
(congenital, posttraumatic, complicated)

  • extracapsular cataract extraction;
  • tunnel cataract extraction;
  • phacoemulsification of IOL (intraocular lens).
 For implantation of IOL modern models by industry-leading manufacturers are used.

  Fîr glaucoma:

  • sinustrabeculoectomy;
  • intrascleral microdrainage.

  Surgery of eyelids

  Ptosis correction

  • resection of levator;
  • strengthening of levator by frontal muscle myoplasty;
  • after Fridenwald method;
  • ablation of chalazions.

   For progressive myopia:

  • various types of sclero-strengthening operations preventing myopia progress.

  For partial optic atrophy, choreoretinal dystrophy:

  For neoplasms:

  Following surgical manipulations are carried out:

  • probing of nasolacrimal canal in dacryocystitis and lacrimal ducts stenosis;
  • ablation of contagious molluscum elements;
  • eyelid abscess opening.

  At the unit they carry out courses of complex conservative treatment including up-to-the-minute pharmaceutical compositions regimen and current techniques of physiotherapy, laser and hardware therapy of the children with such pathologies as progressive, congenital and complicated myopia, partial optic atrophy, dystrophic diseases, amblyopia, astigmatism, paralytic strabismus, acute and chronic inflammatory diseases, glaucoma, outcomes of traumas.

  • gonioscopy;
  • chromatic sensitivity test;
  • strobometry;
  • Shirmer test for detection of tear deficit;
  • dixation definition;
  • West test for diagnosing lacrimal passages patency.

The following manipulations are performed:

  • para-bulbar and retrobulbar introduction of medications under the conjunctiva;
  • drip-feed and jet-stream intravenous instillation;
  • intramuscular and subcutaneous injections;
  • lachrymal ducts irrigation;
  • para-vasal blockade;
  • eye drops instillation, ointments putting;
  • local iodine cauterization of cornea, cryoblowing of cornea.
  • taking conjunctival cavity swabs, palpebral conjunctiva scraping, eyelashes scraping for detection causes of pathological states.
