Physiotherapeutic department of the Voronezh Regional Clinical
Ophthalmologic Hospital, specializing in treatment and follow-up care of the patients
with organ of vision diseases (inflammatory, dystrophic, vascular), burns and traumas
of eyes, refraction anomaly and other eye pathologies, is the only one in the city
of Voronezh and Voronezh region as well as in Central-Chernozem region.
In the unit they use both traditional and non-traditional, up-to-date hardware-controlled
techniques of medical rehabilitation.
At the unit theó carry out the following types of medical activities:
- In-patient medical treatment and out-patient physiotherapeutic medical treatment of adult population and children:
- galvanization and iontophoresis;
- electroelimination;
- diadynamic (currents) therapy;
- amplipulse therapy;
- electrostimulation;
- low-frequency magnetotherapy and magnetophoresis;
- ultrasound [ultrasonic] therapy and phonophoresis of pharmaceutical composition;
- heliomagnetotherapy;
- UHF electric field therapy;
- microwave treatment;
- paraffin treatment;
- aeroionization;
- color-impulse photo-opthtalmostimulation;
- phototherapy (UVI < ultraviolet irradiation>, “sollux”, treatment with polarized light of visible spectrum “Bioptron”);
- infita-therapy.
- Therapeutic massage (that of cervical-collar zone, reflexo-segmental and pressure point massage).
- Reflexotherapy in volume of puncture physiotherapy (electropuncture, laser puncture, magnetopuncture).
- New computer-aided technologies of vision recovery: videocomputer-aided correction of vision with the usage of a new generation instrument complex “Ambliocolor” and computer-aided pleoptical treatment with the usage of various ophthalmologic programs.

Carrying out the videocomputer-aided correction of vision
The unit is equipped in compliance with ARST 42-21-16-86 (departments. General safety requirements);
it has a license of all conducted types of treatment; it is equipped with 56 modern physiotherapeutic
apparatuses, and it is leading in the sphere of physiotherapeutic ophthalmology in the region.
Procedures are carried out by nurses having the 1st and the higher qualification categories as well
as necessary experience of working at the ophthalmologic hospital.
The foreground tendency of the department work is treatment and rehabilitation of out-patients with
myopia, spasm of accommodation, optic lassitude syndrome as well as recovery of vision in children
with amblyopia. Current complex treatment as well as the unique combination of applied techniques is
high-performance, painless, noninvasive and harmless. All the methods of treatment conducted in the
department are physiological techniques of the organ of vision impaired functions correction.
All therapeutic procedures may be carried out in the out-patient period simultaneously with the patients
working and learning activities which is very convenient for them.
The application of natural and precasted physical factors in the patients with eye pathologies treatment
makes it possible to prolong adult people’s working ability, to delay blindness occurrence, and for
children it is a high-power preventive measure against diseases associated with intensified visual strain.
